Rest & Restore Community
Find your peace…
I’m part of a group of practitioners that leads quarterly retreats for the Janki Foundation in Kent in beautiful countryside outside Canterbury.
❋ Rest & Reflection
A restorative one-day silent retreat for people working in health and social care, focused on rest, reflection, and emotional renewal.
❋ Expertly Facilitated
Guided by experienced mental health, mindfulness, psychotherapy, and spiritual care practitioners.
❋ Peaceful Environment
Held in peaceful countryside surroundings with meditation spaces, gardens, and opportunities for quiet contemplation.
❋ Wellbeing & Resilience
Designed to support wellbeing, resilience, and recovery from stress and burnout through silence, mindfulness, and self-reflection.
“Reconnect with your body and mind as you escape the noise of everyday life, and listen to your own voice within.”
Writing from participants at Rest & Restore retreats, who often share the insight they reach in this precious space with others
Burn Out
A fiery spark lit
fan those flames
til they reach higher higher higher
and then keep them
burning fierce
feed it, fan it
voracious appetite
burn baby burn
keep the whole world warm
and brightly lit
eyes open, alert
who else needs warmth?
where to next?
burn → out.
What if we burn...
...in?
embers glowing
low and slowing
dark and knowing
re-minded, re-bodied
here and now
sink → in.
I am a red rose
Vibrant, sensual, beautiful
The world sees my outer petals
Alluring, slightly torn
Only I know my deepest centre
The tightly furled perfect petals
Completely tranquil
Divine core, ever present
The sunshine and clouds
Move over me
Light and shadow
My beauty remains
Fragile and strong at the same time
The wind shakes my leaves
But the bud stays still
In peaceful knowing
Belonging only to its Divine self
But here in the world, rain and shine
Though storms may shake me
I'll return and return
To that protected sacred centre
Beauty, simplicity
Perfect peace
